Arts and Crafts with New England Coastal Wildlife Alliance

Arts and Crafts with New England Coastal Wildlife Alliance In-Person

Join Carol “Krill” Carson from New England Coastal Wildlife Alliance (NECWA) on a fun-filled afternoon of marine wildlife arts & crafts. Create your own fossil shark tooth necklace using glass beads and real fossil shark teeth. Have fun with origami by making your own ocean sunfish or whale. Learn how easy and fun it is to block print using one of NECWA’s pre-cut blocks of a torpedo ray, whale, or horseshoe crab. Other arts & craft activities will be available for kids of all ages. Also available will be free educational material on marine wildlife and marine strandings on Cape Cod. NECWA will also have marine wildlife artifacts for viewing, including whale bones, whale baleen, shark jaws, ocean sunfish bones, and prey items.

Carol “Krill” Carson is a marine biologist who has worked in New England since 1980. Krill founded NECWA in 2005 and currently directs this all-volunteer nonprofit. NECWA combines research activities with educational outreach and conservation. NECWA is the only organization that rescues and researches “misfit” marine animals, including ocean sunfish, torpedo rays, and triggerfish.
