Sound Meditation with Ashley Woodworth In-Person
Join us quarterly for Sound Meditation with Ashley Woodworth, local yoga teacher and sound facilitator!
Sound meditation is an integrated practice that combines a restorative setting with an emphasis on breath, mindful presence, and judicious listening. Instruments such as Tibetan singing bowls, etheric chimes, frame drums, rattles, and crystal pyramids are played during the meditation. This container empowers participants to use sound as a therapeutic tool to disconnect from the monkey mind and delve into an embodied state, disengaging from habitual patterns of thought and behavior, and initiating beneficial cognitive change.
We will have chairs to sit in, but will provide space if you'd like to bring a mat or blanket to lay on. Other comforts to bring include a pillow or extra blanket. Dress comfortably!
Ashley guides yoga practices in hatha, vinyasa flow, power, meditative, and restorative styles, drawing upon over 400 hours of training in the Kripalu and Bhakti traditions. She trained with ethnomusicologist, sound therapist, and sound researcher Alexandre Tannouse to learn the art and science of sound meditation and now facilitates extended meditations with a suite of overtone-rich instruments. Ashley also holds advanced certifications in subtle-body work and is reiki-attuned.
Ashley believes in the power of yoga, breathwork, and sound meditation for individual transformation and the evolution of collective consciousness. She focuses on demonstrating the value of meditation, teaching to all levels, and weaving together proper alignment, breathwork techniques, and the power of sound to support each student’s practice. Her overarching vision is to create spaces and facilitate experiences that empower individuals and groups in their spiritual evolution.
