Welcome to Adult Craft Club! Craft Club is a great way for adults to try new arts and crafts while easing stress and having fun - no experience necessary! Craft Club may feature open crafting, staff-led projects, or art-based programming. All crafts focus more on joy than the outcome, allowing all to tap into their creative freedom. 

This month, we welcome Esther Begleiter, as she guides us through basic hoop embroidery. In this workshop, you will learn the art of Brazilian Embroidery, a beautiful three-dimensional technique that uses highly twisted rayon thread from Brazil to create delicate, raised floral designs. By wrapping, casting on, and looping threads, you bring petals to life as they stand up from the fabric surface. In this design, you will also use iridescence straw threads for a flower. Esther will supply original kits that include all the materials needed to finish the piece, except for framing. The kit contains a photocopy of finished piece, design drawn on fabric, various weights of threads, appropriate needles and needle threader, detailed and clear instructions on how to execute the stitch and proper placement, as well as clear drawn illustration on the sequencing on how to execute the stitch, and hoop for fabric. Participants are encouraged to bring paper and pencil for note taking.
